About my Practice
Hello and welcome! :-) to California Total Body Massage. I have been licensed since June 2013 and I have been a solo therapist since March 2015. . I specialize in Therapeutic Massage,(definition of therapeutic- made to maintain or restore physical, mental, or emotional well-being especially be trained and licensed professionals) specifically Stress Management and Pain Relief; offering Swedish, Prenatal, and Hot Stone, where I excel is Deep Tissue. Deep Tissue is not about pressure, but rather asking and allowing the mind and body to relax as to allow deeper layers of tissue to release. If I am doing Deep Tissue work, I am working anatomically specific, so you may be asked to remove clothing of the area being worked. As a massage therapist, I have extensive training with the human body, specifically the muscular system. This combined with hyperesthesia, a heightened sense of touch, gives me the keen ability to be in touch with the body's tension. Along with communication of pressure and location, this ability allows me to follow a particular muscles's tension to a place of release, relaxation, and traction. Massage therapy, in general, does not have to hurt, however, unless you receive massage on a regular basis, particularly Deep Tissue/ Clinical/ Orthopedic, you will likely experience soreness in the days following your massage. Clinical work is being anatomically specific; Orthopedic work is focusing on soft tissue areas of the body that have experienced injury. This is due to your muscles being chronically tight, which has restricted your circulation and nerve sensation. The more frequently you receive therapeutic/clinical massage, the better body awareness you will develop and better you will feel. I will do everything within the scope of practice to ensure you leave feeling better than when you came in.
Common conditions I am seen for: Stress, Low back pain/ Sciatica, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Slouched Posture, Knee Pain, Pre and Post surgery.
I am Certified in Prenatal, Hot Stone, MyoFascial Release and Massage Cupping.
I am qualified to work with cancer patients.
I offer a 15% military discount, for personnel only.
I do make house calls, anywhere within a 30 mile radius of my zip code, 20619. The session amount does not change, though I do charge $20 for gas.
I hope you have found this information useful.
I am always looking for ways to improve, so please email me with your feedback.
Thank you for your time!
